Written in different timelines with three important characters narrating the story is a likeable formula. Meredith is a doula [a person who provides physical, emotional and informational support without being in a professional capacity of a doctor]. She has some good clientele but not all clients are good. One such patient was Shelby, who consults Meredith very late into her pregnancy. Shelby leads a complicated life and with time and emotional involvement, Meredith sort of starts sympathizing with her a lot. Was Meredith being blind about the person Shelby was? Did she know that maybe Shelby was not all that she was trying to portray? Meredith is married to a good man, Josh and they have two wonderful children - Delilah and Leo. Kate and Bee [Beatrice], are the loving couple who are neighbours to Meredith. But one night, in a turn of events, every possible equation changes for Meredith and Bee.
