Here is why you should read

Written in different timelines with three important characters narrating the story is a likeable formula.  Meredith is a doula [a person who provides physical, emotional and informational support without being in a professional capacity of a doctor]. She has some good clientele but not all clients are good. One such patient was Shelby, who consults Meredith very late into her pregnancy. Shelby leads a complicated life and with time and emotional involvement, Meredith sort of starts sympathizing with her a lot. Was Meredith being blind about the person Shelby was? Did she know that maybe Shelby was not all that she was trying to portray? Meredith is married to a good man, Josh and they have two wonderful children - Delilah and Leo.  Kate and Bee [Beatrice], are the loving couple who are neighbours to Meredith. But one night, in a turn of events, every possible equation changes for Meredith and Bee.  Few pages later, Meredith and her daughter, Delilah are declared missing. ...

  Meghan is a single parent. She works as a full time nurse. Being a full time care giver and also being as present and involved as possible in her daughter's life.  One day, a patient named Caitlin arrives at the hospital in a state of coma and multiple injuries. It is surprising that she was even alive. She had supposedly jumped off the bridge onto the train tracks. Did she jump off or was she pushed? Someone has been constantly wanting to meet her but Caitlin's parents had strict restriction from anybody meeting her. Meghan notices this person and over the course of the story comes to know of some horrifying details about Caitlin and the accident.  On the other side of Meghan's life, many things are not going the way she would have liked to. Her recently divorced husband Ben has been visiting her to ignite old sparks. Then there is her teenage daughter who is behaving brashly after receiving some information that she should not have been privy to. Will this information...

  Casey lives in the woods. It is her choice to be away from active civilization and after what happened in the school she was teaching, she just wanted to get away from it all.  She has a kind neighbour, Lee seems to be a nice guy.  Her sleazy landlord has a cameo in the story. So it does not matter that I can't remember his name! One night there is news that a storm was approaching. Casey's roof needs some repair. While Lee has offered to fix it for her many times, she does not want to be stuck in some kindness obligation and constantly wards off that offer. Now, Lee and Casey both pray that the storm does not really blow off her roof. Of course, Lee offers her his house and promises to be decent and assures hers that he would keep safe distance and respect their friendship.   I finally got to binge watch Homecoming. Originally a podcast by Gimlet Media, which I reviewed many posts ago, this adaptation was brilliant. In Season 1, Julia Roberts was introduced as the facilitator who ran the Homecoming Programme for soldiers returning from war or war zones. The facility catered to soldiers' mental health and well being and make them fit enough to have them join back society without any glitch. But, Julia Roberts is beginning to feel something is not going right. She tries to talk to her manager about it but in vain. Finally she comes to know the dark truth behind the Homecoming Facility. In a turn of events, Julia Roberts becomes victim rather than the one administering the care, counsel and medication she was supposed to have given to the soliders to return to society, a wholesome human being.   What a breezy read! I just sailed through this one! Debbie Mullen lives with her husband Connor Mullen and their two daughters in England some place. She has a job of an agony aunt in the local newspaper and writes for a column called Dear Debbie. Many women write in to her column and she gives advice to the best of her knowledge and ability.  But one day, because of some advice, which did not stick to protocol, led to Debbie losing her job.  On the other had, Connor has been in talks with his boss to make him partner to the company. Unfortunately, that does not go down well too and he was currently on notice period.  With both jobs gone, and no one divulging this bitter truth to the other, Connor and Debbie are stuck in a painful silence, doing the best to hold fort.  Parallely, Debbie's daughters are going through some issue or the other.
