The Gift by Freida McFadden [A Short Story]
A short story that didn't need to be read! But, when you do have your reading goals in mind, any reading is good reading! How much mental harm can a short story really cause? I was going to find out as soon as I had ended the book and you wil do!
Stella Hansen is currently working at a diner. This is her second job to keep her life afloat as her husband was studying.
It is Christmas eve and she is stuck at the diner as oldies don't really like to get up from their conversation as they feel they might get a raw deal in front of the joke.
As the crowd trickle out of the diner, Stella notices that last seat was occupied by an old lady. At first, it looks like this old lady was asleep, then she seemed dead! But she suddenly jolts up, frightening Stella and her colleague. She tells Stella that she knows of a place to buy a last minute Christmas present.
Stella is taken aback. How did the old woman come to know that she had not yet bought her husband a Christmas gift? Was she eavesdropping on their conversation?
Stella makes a grave mistake when she agrees to go to the shop to buy the gift...but... Was Stella mad to go shopping middle of the night? Who was this old woman? What transpires from here?
To know more shocking details, please listen to this short story and you will want to pull out your hair by the end of it! Happy reading!
