Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

I chanced upon the show on Amazon Prime a few years ago and I just could not stop watching as one episode rolled into the other. The show is a book adaptation of the novel by the above mentioned author and is brilliant. You could see through the emotions without really spelling it out.  Having heard of the myth that movies don't do justice to books, I had to read or listen to the book to make that judgement. Would the book be better than the televised series. The draft of this post has stayed on my blog since 2022, I realize! Little Fires Everywhere [LFE] is all about Motherhood and every possible emotion that this status brings to women -  Hyped. Overrated. Deep. Intense. Fearless. Fearsome. Perfection. Flawless. Helplessness.  LFE to me was mostly about strong mothers - two main characters and two sub characters.  Let's meet the Richardsons. Wealthy, well read, well settled, well known. The Richardsons have four kids - Trip, Lexi, Moody and Izzie. Their live...

The Journey to Heal your Inner Child by Rena Thanes

Having seen, felt and experienced emotionally challenging times as a child, there is surely a part of me that wants to make it right, as an adult. The very beginning of the book strikes a chord with the statement, "Have you ever felt like there's a part of you that's stuck in the past - a younger version of yourself still carrying the weight of childhood pain, responding to present-day challenges with old survival patterns?" This beautiful book of kind and well thought words works like a personal therapist. For those of us who would not know where to start explaining or what really to say, it is a book of self reflection and to touch upon some sensitive depths of our very existence. This books is a 90-day journey towards self-love and emotional freedom. Each chapter or section delves into some part of your inner self that needs help, acceptance and healing. You read when you want to, write to yourself when you want to and move further when you feel the time is right...

The Therapy Room by OMJ Ryan

Heaven has no rage like love to hatred turned, nor hell a fury like a woman scorned. - William Congreve Now this is what I call a "psychological" thriller. I am so glad I chose this book from NetGalley to read and review. I will definitely be reading more of this author. This wonderful story is about two women - Olivia and Shelly. Typical of perspective of a person who seems to have lost everything, will find another person having everything they needed and deserved in life. Olivia believed with a vengeance that Shelly had murdered her brother when they were just teens. This memory was locked in the deep recesses of her heart until the day she bumped into Shelly. She now has to take her revenge and close this matter once and for all.  On tracking Shelly, Olivia finds out that she has been visiting this therapy group. She scoffs at this information that someone like Shelly, who has it all - a job, a great marriage, good looking husband, gorgeous little baby - should be visit...
