  Split between two timelines, this was a story that caught me by surprise. Just when I was convinced of the plot, it changed; left me thinking that I could have guessed it all along as the twist was quite plausible. While this story is about a missing child, yes, there is a child that has gone missing in the 2019 timeline, there was yet another child who had gone missing way back in 1993, it is a lot more about a child missing out on parental love, a parent losing any sense of how she should deal with her child(ren). It was a story of missing out on memories that actually defines childhood. It is the missing of innocence by the time adulthood sets in, leaving the individual broken and irreparable. When Josie was a young girl, she had faced the most devastating of moments - her baby brother went missing and eventually found dead. I haven't listened to an audiobook as fast as this one! I was just bugged to get to the bottom of it. Just when I was sure who the bad person was, the story had turned to something else. I quite enjoyed the Brit accent and narrator Lucy Price-Lewis. Judy and Henry - an elderly couple. Judy worked at a clinic. She was a loving mother, doting grandmother. Henry, retired and indulged in many things apart from just fishing. Ben had lost his wife Louise 2 years ago. He has two little boys to look after. The help from his mother to bring them up well and have a running home, while he was a full time teacher, was much needed and appreciated. The kids love their Nanny and of course, Judy loved her boys very much. All was well. Until... Ben soon, under too-good-to-be-true situations, meets very bold, good looking, Amber.
